Tradelinks 2014 Event a Major Success

Over 130 organisations took part in a highly successful cross-border trade event in Monaghan.

The Tradelinks 2014 Regional Meet the Buyer and Networking event, which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Monaghan on 14th May, 2014, was an opportunity for businesses in the cross-border region to meet and network with major public and private sector buyers responsible for spending over £1 billion on goods and services every year. Buyers representing a mixture of key public and corporate bodies from both sides of the border attended the event, meeting over 80 supplier companies. Over four hundred meetings took place throughout the day.

Programme Manager Kieran Mathers said: “The Tradelinks 2014 event has been a resounding success for all the companies involved. The opportunity for our small firms to meet companies as diverse as An Garda Siochanna, district councils, health boards and education boards under one roof in one day is certainly exceptional. On behalf of Tradelinks I’d like to thank all the buyers who took time out of their busy schedules to attend, for without their support innovative events like these wouldn’t happen.”

Speaking of his experience of the event, Trevor Mitchell of Irish Shopper said: “We were very pleased with the contacts made. We now have 3 new suppliers and 2 potential suppliers as a direct result of attending the event.”
